    Education in New Zealand is divided into three main stages:
  • Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary.
    Higher education is provided by Universities, Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs), and Private Training Establishments (PTEs).
  • In New Zealand, classrooms usually have smaller groups of students, creating a supportive academic environment following global standards.
  • Two important organizations, the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA), oversee academic institutions to ensure quality education.
    Qualifications in New Zealand are categorized into ten levels:
  • Levels 1, 2 & 3: These are equivalent to secondary school or trades certificates.
  • Level 4: Represents a certificate.
  • Levels 5 & 6: Correspond to diplomas or the first and second years of college.
  • Level 7: Stands for bachelor’s degrees, graduate certificates, and graduate diplomas.
  • Level 8: Signifies bachelor’s (honors) degrees, postgraduate certificates, and PG diplomas.
  • Level 9: Denotes master’s degrees.
  • Level 10: Represents doctoral degrees or PhDs.
    In New Zealand, major course intakes usually occur in February and July. However, some colleges may also have additional intakes in November.

Cost

  • For Diploma programs in New Zealand, the estimated tuition fees typically range between 17,000 to 19,000 New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
  • If you’re considering Undergraduate programs, you can expect tuition fees to be in the range of 21,000 to 24,000 NZD.
  • For those pursuing Postgraduate programs, the approximate tuition fees usually fall between 25,000 to 27,000 NZD.
  • As for living expenses, you should budget around 10.50 lakhs Indian Rupees (INR).
  • In addition to that, consider setting aside approximately 5 lakhs INR for various costs, including tickets, visa fees, quarantine expenses, and other miscellaneous items.

Application Process

    Here is the step-by-step guide to apply in New Zealnad institutions:
  • Academic & English Test Score: Ensure you have your academic records and English proficiency test scores ready.
  • Application for Admission in College: Submit your application for admission to the college or educational institution of your choice.
  • Finance to Be Shown: Be prepared to demonstrate your financial capacity to cover your tuition and living expenses.
  • PCC + Medical: Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) and undergo the necessary medical examinations.
  • Visa Application: Complete and submit your visa application to the relevant authorities.
  • Interview by the Embassy: Be ready for an interview at the embassy or consulate as part of the visa application process.
  • AIP (Approval in Principle) or Conditional Visa: Await the Approval in Principle (AIP) or the issuance of a conditional visa, depending on the requirements.
  • FTS (Funds Transfer System): Use the Funds Transfer System to transfer the necessary financial funds as per visa requirements.
  • Visa Approval Letter: Once approved, you will receive your visa approval letter.
